What does this barcode do?

ITF-14 (Interleaved 2 of 5) encodes a 14-digit GTIN-14. It identifies cartons, case packs, and pallets — not individual items. The first digit is often a packaging indicator; the rest relate to the product GTIN.

ITF-14 is robust and tolerates rough handling, warehouse scanning, and moderate print quality. Use it when retailers or distributors require GTIN-14 on cartons for receiving and inventory.

Safe print sizes

  • Recommended: 100 × 32 mm
  • Minimum (risky): 80 × 25 mm
  • Large: 140 × 45 mm

Quiet zone (blank margin)

Leave at least 10 mm left and right if you can. Don't put it too close to box edges, seams, or tape.

Tip

ITF-14 is designed to survive rougher printing and scanning environments — great for cartons.
